Playa del Inglés is located on the south coast of the island of Gran Canaria in the Canary Islands. It is one of the most popular resorts and beaches in the region and for a good reason. The weather is almost always great, the water is blue and the sand is fine. If you want to experience the quintessential Spanish holiday, this is the place for you. When it comes to weed, you should have no issue scoring at the Playa del Inglés, especially with our help:
Cannabis laws in Spain
When it comes to marijuana, Spain is one of the most liberal countries in Europe, however, the laws are very convoluted. You are legally allowed to possess and consume cannabis in private spaces, such as your house. If you go outside, however, the possession and consumption of marijuana is a misdemeanor that will get you fined and your weed can be confiscated. Of course, in practice the police might turn a blind eye if you are just smoking a joint on the beach. Because cannabis can legally be smoked in private, there are member-only cannabis clubs that function similarly to a coffee shop in the Netherlands, but those are usually not for tourists.
Many people smoke weed in Spain and depending on where you do it, it might even be legal. That being said, most visitors to the country will be smoking outside and breaking the law. That being said, if you are careful and don’t carry more than a couple of grams on you, it’s unlikely you will get into any real trouble over weed in Spain.
Getting weed in Playa del Ingles
Because of the relaxed laws and how touristy it is, finding weed in Playa del Ingles shouldn’t be much of an issue. If you walk around the beach in the evening there is a good chance that you will be offered to buy weed from the roaming dealers. If that doesn’t happen, you can ask the people selling souvenirs and trinkets in the touristy areas, many of them will be able to sort you out. Just don’t forget to haggle for your weed, as they often try to rip tourists off.
