Baltimore is the largest city in the state of Maryland and is only 40 miles away from Washington DC. The city was founded in the 18th century and to this day it has a lot of colonial architecture. The port of Baltimore is also one of the biggest in the country and is one of the top destinations for tourists visiting Baltimore. Possession of small amounts of cannabis is decriminalized in Maryland and the marijuana laws, in general, are not very strict.
Cannabis laws in Maryland
Maryland has very liberal cannabis laws, which are aimed at the big time dealers and traffickers instead of the people who consume weed for personal use. If you are caught with less than 10 grams of weed, it is considered to be a civil offense and you will receive a fine of 100$. For larger amounts of weed, the fine will go up and there is also the possibility to go to jail if you have a few pounds of weed on you. Hash possession is treated the same way as weed and possession of drug paraphernalia is not illegal.
Despite the relatively liberal laws, it is still best not to smoke weed in public. The fine for doing that is 500$.
Finding weed in Baltimore
There is a lot of marijuana going around Baltimore, as well as all of the other drugs for that matter. It is not hard to score weed, but it can be very dangerous as the city has a serious crime problem. A few good places to look for weed, that are relatively safe are Towson, Charles Village, and Fells Point. If you walk around those neighborhoods you will often see rasta guys hanging out. They can usually hook you up. The prices can depend on the quality as well as the quantity you buy. However, you can expect to pay 5$ a gram for the bad weed and around 10$ for good weed.
